Elizabeth Leeson graduated with her BA(Hons) in History in 1997 from King's College, University of Western Ontario. In 2002, she completed her MA in History at the U.W.O. specializing in First Nations history with a thesis: Preserving Identity: Six Nations of the Grand River and WWII. She completed D'Youville College's Adolescent Certificate program in New York State in 2008. Most recently, she completed a Doctorate in Education at Western University in London, Ontario. Her Organizational Improvement Plan was entitled An Issue of Equity and Inclusion: Disproportionate Suspension and Expulsion Rates of Black and Indigenous Students. The primary focus of this paper was a focus on trauma-informed and restorative practices.

Elizabeth taught at Ontario certified schools in Shenzhen, China for five years, and Hong Kong for four years. She is currently working for the Thames Valley District School Board. She holds Ontario Principal's Certification. Additionally, she holds Intermediate and Senior English and History, Junior, English as a Second Language (Part 2), Special Education (Part 1), and a History Specialist qualifications. Elizabeth is a Google Certified Educator, using Google Suites in all of her classes. Recently, in order to encourage student engagement, she is particularly interested in implementing Augmented and Virtual Reality in her classes.
