A Fresh Take on Perspective

Potting soil, army figures, straws, twigs, cotton balls, and cell phones.  What do you get? Trench photos! Why not? We had a fun time today putting together trench dioramas and then taking pictures to re-enact trench scenes.  Students used cell phone filters such as Vsco or Desktop apps such as Pixart and Photoshop to change colour images into black and white. In some cases, students chose to add smoke and a motion blurred plane into the photo.  This activity gave students a fun opportunity to show their understanding of trench warfare. After students finished creating their diorama and photos, they then wrote a story about what was happening in the picture. Loved this activity!
